“This clinic is a commitment to those who have served and for those who have sacrificed.   For years, patients have had to travel to either Charleston to receive care from Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, or to Columbia to visit William Jennings Bryan Dorn Medical Center,” said Congressman Rice. “I am pleased to see the plans for a ‘state of the art’ clinic that is so much closer to home for our area’s veterans come to fruition.  I know this clinic will serve and honor our Veterans with the best care possible.”

“We are pleased to host Congressman Rice today at our new clinic. We are excited to show our new capabilities. We are glad he is able to talk with our Veteran population as well,” said Wayne Capps, Chief of Public Affairs and Stakeholder Relations.

The new Myrtle Beach VA Outpatient Clinic opened in April 2021 at 1800 Airpark Drive and expanded the services available to Veterans in the area. The clinic provides services to Veterans in Georgetown, Horry and surrounding counties. The state-of-the-art, 84,000 square feet building provides primary care, mental health and specialty services. The clinic features more than 200 treatment rooms, an optical shop, prosthetic services, a mobile MRI and more. Additionally, there is a separate Women’s Health area with dedicated exam rooms each with a private restroom for specialized women’s care. The clinic serves nearly 13,000 Veteran patients in Horry County and surrounding communities.
