Every other week, my team and I will post our Covid-19 Vaccine Newsletter. This newsletter will provide you with the most up-to-date information about the Covid-19 vaccine distribution in our community and where you can get a vaccine.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?


Booster Shots:

On January 3, 2022, The Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) approved emergency use authorization for booster shots to include all aged 12+ who received a Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

The CDC continues to recommend booster shots for adults 18+ who received Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.

Vaccines:

The CDC announced on Tuesday, November 2 that the Pfizer vaccine is approved for children ages 5 - 11.

The Pfizer vaccine remains available to those aged 12+.  

Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson are all available to those aged 18 and older.

South Carolina has moved beyond Phase 1-B (Estimated Population of Phase 1-B: 2.7 million)
South Carolina has skipped Phase 1-C (Estimated Population of Phase 1-C: 1.9 million)


WHERE CAN I GET MY VACCINE?

You can use this tool to find a Covid-19 vaccination site near you.

Children ages 5-11 are eligible to recieve the Pfizer vaccine. The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) recommends parents call their child's pediatrician or family healthcare provider to make an appointment.

VACCINES FOR VETERANS

Enrolled Veterans of all ages can receive the COVID-19 vaccine through the VA. Appointments are available in Hinesville, Savannah, Myrtle Beach and North Charleston. Call 843-789-6900 to schedule your appointment.
