Every other week, my team and I will post our Covid-19 Vaccine Newsletter. This newsletter will provide you with the most up-to-date information about the Covid-19 vaccine distribution in our community and where you can get a vaccine. The South Carolina Covid-19 Response Plan can be found here. |
WHO IS ELIGIBLE? |
The CDC announced on Tuesday, November 2 that the Pfizer vaccine is now approved for children ages 5 - 11. The Pfizer vaccine remains available to those aged 12+. Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson are all available to those aged 18 and older. Booster Shots: On November 19, 2021, the CDC expanded recommendations for booster shots to include all adults ages 18 years and older who received a Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine at least six months after their second dose. The Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) authorization and CDC’s recommendation for use are critical next steps forward in our country’s booster program – a program which will help provide increased protection against COVID-19 disease and death. |
WHAT PHASE ARE WE IN? |

WHERE CAN I GET MY VACCINE? |
You can use this tool to find a Covid-19 vaccination site near you. Children ages 5-11 are eligible to recieve the Pfizer vaccine. The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) recommends parents call their child's pediatrician or family healthcare provider to make an appointment. You can also call this number for help finding vaccine providers and to answer questions:1-866-365-8110 |
VACCINES FOR VETERANS |
Enrolled Veterans of all ages can receive the COVID-19 vaccine through the VA. Appointments are available in Hinesville, Savannah, Myrtle Beach and North Charleston. Call 843-789-6900 to schedule your appointment.
