WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

The CDC announced on Tuesday, November 2 that the Pfizer vaccine is now approved for children ages 5 - 11.

The Pfizer vaccine remains available to those aged 12+.  

Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson are all available to those aged 18 and older.

Booster Shots:

On November 19, 2021, the CDC expanded recommendations for booster shots to include all adults ages 18 years and older who received a Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine at least six months after their second dose.

The Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) authorization and CDC’s recommendation for use are critical next steps forward in our country’s booster program – a program which will help provide increased protection against COVID-19 disease and death.

WHAT PHASE ARE WE IN?

Phase 2 started on March 31, 2021.

On Thursday, May 13, The CDC issued the following guidance for vaccinated people:

Fully vaccinated people can:

• Resume activities without wearing masks or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance
• Resume domestic travel and refrain from testing before or after travel or self-quarantine after travel
• Refrain from testing before leaving the United States for international travel (unless required by the destination) and refrain from self-quarantine after arriving back in the United States
• Refrain from testing following a known exposure, if asymptomatic, with some exceptions for specific settings
• Refrain from quarantine following a known exposure if asymptomatic
• Refrain from routine screening testing if feasible

WHERE CAN I GET MY VACCINE?

You can use this tool to find a Covid-19 vaccination site near you.

Children ages 5-11 are eligible to recieve the Pfizer vaccine. The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) recommends parents call their child's pediatrician or family healthcare provider to make an appointment.

VACCINES FOR VETERANS

Enrolled Veterans of all ages can receive the COVID-19 vaccine through the VA. Appointments are available in Hinesville, Savannah, Myrtle Beach and North Charleston. Call 843-789-6900 to schedule your appointment.
