Washington, D.C.—Rep. Tom Rice (SC-07) released the following statement today regarding the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce’s March 2013 Unemployment Report:

“Today’s unemployment numbers give job seekers some hope but there is still much room for improvement.  With every county’s unemployment rate in the 7th District higher than both the national rate and state unemployment rates, we must continue encouraging business investments and supporting the pro-growth solutions needed to create more long-term jobs.

“As your representative, it is my priority to bring more jobs and opportunity to our district. Last month the 7th District received several multimillion dollar business investments, bringing hundreds of much-needed jobs to our area.  I will continue to support legislation that eliminates onerous regulations, restores certainty in the market place, and reforms our tax code so we can achieve a real recovery and get more people back to work.”
