WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Tom Rice (SC-07) announced he trimmed his office’s operating budget and will return more than $170,000, nearly doubling the amount he returned last year.

“Operating within a budget, and under budget is something every elected official and the United States government should be required to do,” said Congressman Rice.  “As a steward of my constituents’ tax dollars, I think it is important that my staff and I look for ways to save money and cut costs, all while running our three congressional offices as efficiently as possible.  I will continue to apply these same budgeting principles to our country’s budget, and I ask Speaker Boehner to use the money I am returning to pay down the national debt.”

Congressman Tom Rice has three offices serving South Carolina’s Seventh Congressional District: the Grand Strand Office, the Pee Dee Office, and the Washington, D.C. Office.
