Washington, D.C.—Rep. Tom Rice (SC-07) released the following statement today regarding the House passage of H.R.45, a bill to repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and health care-related provisions in the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010.
“Since the President’s health care law was first enacted, it has been a headache for Americans and the health industry alike. The more Americans learn about the law, the more they realize they were lied to. The President infamously touted, “If you like your insurance plan, you can keep it.” However, recent studies have proven this is far from the truth. I was proud to cosponsor legislation to repeal this job-killing law because it is a non-starter for our economy, will cost taxpayers trillions of dollars, and will rob hardworking Americans of their health insurance plans.”
H.R. 45 passed the U.S. House of Representatives with a bipartisan vote of 229-195. View the full text here.
