South Carolina– Representative Tom Rice (R-SC) released the following statement on the progress of beachfront renourishment in the Seventh District. 

"The vitality of our beaches is crucial to our economy and I am proud that my office secured $80 million for beachfront renourishment. The Army Corps of Engineers is making good progress- they have completed post-Hurricane Florence renourishment in Myrtle Beach and will soon begin work in North Myrtle Beach and Garden City. I will continue to monitor this project and work to grow our coastal economy."

Work is expected to begin in North Myrtle Beach the week of May 13th and will then transition to Garden City. Please note that the dates are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. You can also visit this website for project updates.
