Washington, D.C.— On Thursday, March 13, at 1:00 p.m., the Small Business Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax and Capital Access, under the chairmanship of Congressman Tom Rice (R-SC), will conduct a hearing titled Made in the U.S.A.: Small Business and a New Manufacturing Renaissance. The hearing will examine the return of manufacturing activity to the United States that had largely been taking place overseas, a trend some refer to as “re-shoring,” and what the potential implications of this trend mean for small businesses.
“Our country's manufacturers are a dominant economic force and the lifeline of American competitiveness," said Chairman Rice. "We must examine how small businesses are impacted by a growth in domestic manufacturing so they can continue to thrive. I look forward to examining the economic trends driving manufacturing location decisions.”
