Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Tom Rice (SC-07) announced that he will host a Seventh District Economic Development Resource Forum Thursday, September 5, 2013, in Florence, South Carolina.
The purpose of the forum is to explore ways local businesses and entrepreneurs in the Seventh Congressional District can work together to create more jobs, attract new business, and excel economic growth in the region. The forum is open to economic developers, county administrators, county council chairmen (or council representatives), and members of the media.
“As we strive to lead the state in economic development, it is important for us to come together to share best practices and discuss ways we can make our respective communities more competitive,” said Congressman Rice. “We put together this forum to provide our county administrators, community representatives, and developers the insights they need to attract new business, create jobs, and spur economic growth in our area.”
Congressman Tom Rice (SC-07), University of South Carolina’s Office of Economic Engagement Executive Director Bill Kirkland, and Palmetto College Chancellor Dr. Susan Elkins will deliver remarks and USC’s Office of Economic Engagement Team will hold two emphasis area seminars.
