WASHINGTON – Congressman Tom Rice (R-S.C) was recently appointed to the House Democracy Partnership for the 117th Congress by Minority Leader McCarthy, along with eight other Republican Members of the House of Representatives.
“I look forward to rejoining the House Democracy Partnership and working with legislatures around the world to strengthen democracies,” said Congressman Rice. “This commission helps to deepen our Nation’s bilateral relations and has an impact on people worldwide. I’m proud to work towards enhanced accountability, transparency, access to information, and government oversight in our partner countries.”
The House Democracy Partnership, founded in 2005, is a bipartisan commission of the House of Representatives that works to promote responsive, effective government and strengthen democratic institutions by assisting legislatures in emerging democracies. The Partnership is assisted by the US Agency for International Development, the International Republican Institute, and the National Democratic Institute.
