WASHINGTON – Congressman Tom Rice (R-S.C.) released the following statement applauding the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) decision to allocate 30,000 additional H-2B Visas for the remainder of fiscal year 2019.
“After hearing concerns from Seventh District constituents and business owners, I joined a bipartisan group of my colleagues in requesting the Department of Homeland Security release additional temporary, non-immigrant H-2B visas. Seasonal businesses contribute significantly to our local and national economy, so it is essential they have access to employees that allow them to keep their doors open. I applaud Secretary Nielson’s decision to allocate an addition 30,000 H-2B visas and will continue to work to advance common sense immigration policies that support American businesses and workers and will keep our economy buzzing.”
