Happy New Year!
I hope you enjoyed a safe and happy holidays with your family and friends. Since I was elected in 2013, my focus has been advancing policies to make America more competitive. I believe that if we level the playing field, American workers can compete with anyone in the world.
To make America more competitive I have pushed the following:
- Lower taxes so our businesses can compete - check!
- Reduce government regulation that stifles our economy - great progress!
- Renegotiate trade agreements that are unfair to American Workers - great progress!
- Develop American energy reserves to end our dependence on OPEC and Russia - check!
- End illegal immigration that steals American jobs and holds down wages for the middle class while enriching the rich - still trying.
- Invest in infrastructure because we can’t compete in the world without world class infrastructure - think I-73.
President Donald Trump has never seen my list. But he is advancing every one of these policies, while I’m doing my part in Congress....AND IT IS WORKING! After a decade of stagnation, the American economy is the envy of the world and American workers are benefiting.
I predict that 2020 will be a good year for our President, Donald Trump. It will be a good year for Republicans. It will be a good year for American workers. It will be a good year for the United States of America.
Jobs, Jobs, Jobs
In the December jobs report, South Carolina had the second-lowest unemployment rate in the country at 2.4%, an even better number than the record-breaking low in November. These low numbers are a direct result of conservative policies, and I will continue to fight to boost our economy and improve the lives of American workers.
