Save the Date: Flooding & Hurricane Preparedness Community Workshop
Our team is hosting a flood recovery and hurricane preparedness community workshop on Wednesday, October 2nd. This community workshop will give people direct access to the information they need in the aftermath of natural disasters and ahead of potential storms. If you have questions about storm recovery or preparedness, we hope to see you there!
We are mourning the loss of two wonderful South Carolinians this week. Emily England Clyburn, wife of fifty-eight years to Representative Jim Clyburn, passed away Thursday morning. She was a trailblazer who changed the course of history in South Carolina. Though I only met her once, her spirit shined bright, and she will be missed by all. Sheriff Lane Cribb, Georgetown's County Sheriff, also passed away on Thursday. He was a leader in the truest sense of the word and was universally respected. He worked to build things up, not tear them down and I am lucky to have known him. Wrenzie and I are sending our prayers to the Clyburn and Cribb families, their friends, and the entire South Carolina community during this difficult time.
Celebrating the Constitution
This week we celebrated the 232nd anniversary of our Founding Fathers signing the final version of the Constitution. Their Grand Experiment has become the greatest land on Earth and we must cherish the rights and freedoms guaranteed to us by this remarkable document. God Bless the USA!
