Thanksgiving is a time to step back and reflect on all the blessings we have been given. This year, I am especially thankful for my family, my wife and sons, and their unending support. I am thankful for the freedoms that this great nation provides us. While hurricane season is not yet over, I am especially thankful that we have been spared from a significant storm. Most importantly, I am thankful for my constituents who have given me the opportunity to serve them in Washington, D.C. I hope you will take a moment this week to reflect on all we have to be thankful for in the Seventh District.
Fighting for American Workers
On Wednesday, the Ways and Means Trade Subcommittee held a hearing on America’s trade policies During the hearing, I urged my colleagues to set aside our partisan differences and choose the American worker. USMCA will be good for all of America, and especially the farmers in the Seventh District. It’s time for the House to hold a vote on USMCA now.
The Democrats’ impeachment inquiry continued this week. With each witness and hearing, the fundamental facts remain the same: there was no quid pro quo, bribery, pressure, or impeachable offense. These proceedings are distracting from what Americans send their members of Congress to Washington to do: create policies that will improve lives. I hope that Speaker Pelosi will do her job and turn this show off so that we can work to pass USMCA, lower prescription drug costs, and secure our nation’s border.
