August Jobs Report

1.4 Million jobs were created in August and unemployment dropped to 8.4%! 

In April unemployment was at 14.7%. President Trump cut unemployment nearly in half in just four months. 

Did you know the Obama/Biden Administration took twenty-seven months to lower the unemployment rate from 10% to 8.3%? 

Prior to the pandemic, the economy was strong and the pro-growth policies put in place by President Trump and Republicans are the reason we are seeing these great results. These policies work for the American people.

Blood and Plasma Drive

On Tuesday I hosted a blood and plasma drive in Florence. Thank you to everyone who donated. You have made a difference in your community! If you were not able to make it this time, I encourage you to look for other opportunities to donate.

Bennettsville Safety Complex Tour

On Wednesday I went on a tour of the Bennettsville Safety Complex. 

The women and men in blue face enormous pressure every day. Without them, society could not function. They put their very lives on the line for you and me. They protect us. They are truly heroes.

Police officers, we appreciate you and support you. We will defend you, not defund you.

Broadband Infrastructure

I am happy to announce that Horry Telephone Cooperative (HTC) has been awarded more than $1.8 million through the South Carolina Broadband Infrastructure Program (SCBIP) to fund projects in Marion, Georgetown, and Horry counties.

These projects will help connect over 1,000 rural and underserved residences and businesses, as well as, allow communities to respond to COVID-19 challenges in a more effective manner.

This funding will benefit the North Santee & South Island Communities in Georgetown County, the Centenary & Gresham Communities in Marion County, and the Nichols area (Causey Rd.) in Horry County.

Broadband infrastructure is an invaluable resource that will greatly benefit the Seventh District.
