Dec 01 2019
I hope y’all enjoyed a safe and happy Thanksgiving. I know I certainly enjoyed the opportunity to reflect on all my blessings with family and friends. As we look to December and the end of the year, I am excited to get back to working for you. We have a lot to get done this month, and I look forward to getting to work on funding the government, lowering the cost of prescription drugs, and securing our national border.

National Park Service gives $47.8 million in hurricane assistance

Jobs, Jobs, Jobs!
Unemployment is at an all-time low of 2.6% according to data released by the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce earlier this month. The current unemployment numbers for South Carolina are a full one percent lower than the national rate of 3.6%! It's no surprise that conservative policy is working. Lower taxes, less regulation, and less government intrusion are helping our economy thrive! I will continue to fight at both the federal and local level to help our economy continue to grow and create opportunity for those in the Seventh District.

Interested in an Internship?
I have three offices to serve the people of the Seventh District, and interns are a valuable part of our team and help the office run smoothly. In Washington, my staff handles legislative issues, such as introducing bills and committee work. In Myrtle Beach and Florence, my staff handles constituent casework, such as helping veterans process claims with the VA or solving problems with Social Security. Interns gain a first hand view of all the work done in any of the three locations.
Internships are available to any college or higher education student. If you or someone you know would be a good candidate, please visit my website for more information and to apply. We accept interns on a rolling basis for the spring, summer, and fall semester.
