Weekly Update
Merry Christmas
Dec 20 2020
Friends,
From my family to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I wish you a safe, happy, and healthy holiday season. May God continue to bless South Carolina and the United States of America.
Covid-19 Relief
President Trump and Republicans in Congress have offered plan after plan to provide aid to hurting Americans and small businesses. All have been refused by Speaker Pelosi.
If Pelosi really wanted to help families and businesses, she would pass clean Covid relief legislation to extend the Paycheck Protection Program and provide a stimulus without all the pork. Continually delaying support is a slap in the face to hardworking Americans.
I sincerely hope the partisan, political games will be set aside soon. America needs support.
Covid-19 Vaccine
In the initial days of the vaccine rollout in South Carolina, the state received 42,900 doses of the Pfizer vaccine.
States will receive additional allocations of Pfizer vaccine each week. South Carolina expects its next doses to arrive early next week and anticipates receiving between 200,000-300,000 total doses by the end of the year.

Also, great news…Moderna’s Vaccine will begin distribution next week. Two more vaccines are in stage 3 trials. The goal is 2 million doses per week in the near term, and 200 million doses by March 31.
This is a direct result of the bipartisan congressional response to the pandemic in the CARES Act, followed by urgent implementation by the Trump Administration of Operation Warp Speed to develop a vaccine. These vaccines were developed in less than a year....1/3 of the typical time.
Too often we focus on our differences. This is what can happen when we work together.
